My name is Jasmine Maloney, I am a designer born and raised in NYC. I graduated from Kingsborough Community College with an associate degree in Graphic Design. My portfolio displays all of my work so far as a Designer; I just say "designer" since my work consists of different mediums. I strive to learn many fields of design (mostly digital) until I find the one that gravitates to me most and wants to spend the rest of my life with. Growing up I was always into art. When I was a little curious, energetic, crafty kid I’d always create things like paper phones/laptops for fun, draw the cartoon characters I watched such as Spongebob, or (if I wanted to show off my interior designer side) give my grandmothers living room walls a redecoration with some crayons. I loved and adored art in every form, It was not until high school that I saw creations being made through computers. This was when I was thinking about college and what I should major in. At first, I was going for Fine Arts given my love for it since I was a child. However, I was quite discouraged by my amateur skills. I looked around and saw students with talent like Leonardo de Vinci, making out-of-this-world art. I felt like I could never get to that level, therefore I looked for something else. I looked at the majors in schools involving design and Graphic Design came up. I searched for classes within this field and thought it was exciting. I already loved designing and I also loved doing work on the computer so I thought that would be a good combination for me, therefore I decided to make Graphic Design my major. I am glad I made that decision because I am now absolutely in love with Graphic Design and plan to incorporate it into my future work.
